Ray Lewis Last Dance

On January 7, 2013, Ray Lewis played his last home game for the Baltimore Ravens. After 17 years and delivering one Super Bowl championship to the team, Lewis has become not only the face of the organization but the city as well. He did his routine pre game dance before this playoff game. This was a memorable moment that I’m sure Ravens fans and fans of the NFL will never forget. Thank you Ray.

Derrick Rose Commercial: Wake Up

Adidas Basketball releases its first Derrick Rose commercial for the season. I might be in the minority, but I rather see Rose sit out this season and return the following season 100% healthy.

Latipha Cross Inspirational Story

I was watching ESPN’s Outside the Lines today and this amazing story came on today. Latipha Cross, an 18-year-old female from Detroit, overcame homelessness and cancer to earn a full track and field scholarship to college. I always enjoy watching stories like this because it motivates me and allows me to appreciate everything in life. But also, it shows how sports can provide a place for people to escape the problems or challenges of their lives.

New Jackie Robinson Movie “42″ Trailer

A new Jackie Robinson movie will be releasing in April 2013, “42: The True Story of An American Legend”.  The 65th anniversary of Robinson breaking the color barrier in MLB occurred this past April. So it makes a sense for a movie to be coming out. From the preview, it seems like this will be must see movie next year. In case anybody was wondering that was another Jay-Z song in the background.

Throwback Thursday: Randy Moss in NFL Films

The legendary Steve Stabol, one  of the founders of NFL Films died on Tuesday. NFL Films provided fans with amazing inside access to videos and audios of the game we watch every Sunday. NFL Films did a list of the top 100 greatest players and I chose my favorite player Randy Moss. Thank you Steve Stabol.

Player to Watch: Jabari Parker

Jabari Parker is one of the best prospects in the class of 2013. He’s ranked either 1 or 2 in most of the rankings. If he succeeds at the next level he will be added to the list of great Chicago players like Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose. If you haven’t read the Sports Illustrated piece on him, please do. You will truly become a fan of not only Jabari Parker the player, but the Jabari Parker the person as well. Only time will tell if he lives up to the greatest high school player since LeBron hype.

New Spurs Alternate Jerseys

The Spurs will be sporting a new look this season with this jersey. I think its decent, but I’m waiting for the Oklahoma City Thunder black or grey alternate jerseys to come out. What do you think of the new grey alternate uniforms for San Antonio Spurs?
